Although medical marijuana is not currently legal in the State of North Carolina, we have high hopes that it will be soon! You should make sure you are prepared for the launch of the program by educating yourself so that you know what to expect.
If there’s one thing we know from other states’ medical marijuana programs, it’s that medical marijuana products can get expensive! Due to marijuana’s federal 1 scheduling, insurance companies are not currently able to help patients with the cost of their medical cannabis.
There are infinite ways to save at local dispensaries, and when North Carolina opens its first batch, we want you to be as prepared as possible! In this blog, we will give you some tips for how to save at dispensaries.
Rewards Programs
Most dispensaries give patients the option to join their rewards program. These programs typically offer patients a few things. For one, members will sign up for alerts, and will be notified of sales on products so they can plan dispensary trips accordingly.
Also, most rewards programs offer points to participants. Basically, the more you spend, the more points you will have which translates to savings for your next dispensary trip! These points prove to be very useful!
Keep a Journal
When you first start using medical marijuana, it is best to keep track of your dosage. Keeping track of your dosage can help with many things, but is especially important if you want to save money at the dispensary.
Let’s say you are using a marijuana vape, for example. You should record how many puffs you take, and for how long. For example, you may only need one, three second puff to achieve your desired effect, while others may need two to three puffs.
You should record your dosage in a journal so that you know how much marijuana you need to reach your desired effect. Don’t just take five puffs right off the bat, because your tolerance will quickly increase.
If your tolerance increases, you will need more product to achieve your desired effect, and you will be making dispensary trips much more often than you would actually need to.
